Did you go to our first open mic event of the season? Well if you didn’t it’s not too late! As you may have heard Canine Cafe is holding holiday opening mic nights every Friday evening from November 24 to December 22nd in honor of the pooches and the holiday season! Anyone who signs up gets the chance to perform a song of choice, a spoken word or poetry piece, or even do a little bit of comedy if you are so inclined to do so!
To sign-up for our open mic nights, simply follow the link here: https://caninecafepnw.weebly.com/campaign-2-landing-page.html and submit your information to the “performer sign-up” section. Once signed up we will follow-up with a confirmation e-mail detailing your performance. For those who want to sign-up at the cafe, we will take any last minute sign-ups until the time slots are all full for the night! Each Friday during this period, Canine Cafe will begin the open mic portion at 4:30 pm and will last until 7:30 pm. Admission fee for those times will be $10 (performers get in free) and that will include access to the dog room for the duration of the open mic session. In addition to our open mics, this season we are offering up 25 percent off of all adoption fees! This is the perfect time of year to add a furry friend to the family! Our open mic nights are the perfect opportunity to come meet each dog and find the perfect pooch for you or your family! This offer will last for the same duration as our open mic nights. We highly encourage adopting during these times not only for the added benefit of having a new pooch during the holidays, but for opening up space to allow more dogs to be fostered at the cafe. Winter is coming and this can be very dangerous for homeless animals. So tap into your holiday spirit. If you see stray animals on the streets and are worried of the cold weather (or just about their well-being in general) make sure to contact the local humane society to pick them up. Approaching stray animals yourself can be very dangerous even if they seem harmless. In addition, if you do pick up a stray yourself, please still contact the humane society. Someone may be looking for their furry friends in worry. There’s also a chance that the animal may need medical attention or vaccinations of some sort. We at Canine Cafe take in as many homeless dogs as we can hold in our facilities, these animals come to us from animal shelters who have already inspected the dogs for any major issue. By doing this, we are opening the humane society’s shelters to more homeless animals who need shelter and medical attention. So come in to one our our warm and cozy open mic nights, meet the dogs, and maybe give one a new home. ‘Tis the season! On behalf of your favorite Canine Cafe employees and our furry friends, we are all here wishing our customers the happiest of happy holidays. For everyone traveling this holiday season we wish you all safe and easy travels. For everyone staying in the Palouse, stay warm during this cold snowy winter. We wound love to see your smiling faces come in to get your favorite espresso or hot chocolate beverage and take advantage of our open mic nights every Friday from 4:30-7:30 during the month of December. Happy holidays and go cougs!

Retrieved November 06, 2017, from https://www.barkatl.com/how-to-keep-your-dog-safe-during-winter/ Celebrities are just like us! Despite the fame and money, they too need and love the companionship of a furry friend. Many celebrities not only love their own animal but have a strong desire to save animals all over. While many celebrities are very "in your face" about their animal activism, many chose to help in a less vocal but equally impactful way. Here are three of our favorite celebrities who use their platform to change the lives of animals everywhere. Actor Ian Somerhalder, best knowm for his role in Vampire Diaries is a huge animal lover and activist. Ian and his girlfriend Nikki Reed have adopted multiple animals to add to their existing family including a horse, a cat, and a brand new rescue kitten. Not only that, but Ian founded the Ian Somerhalder Foundation that focuses on promoting conservation and healing the environment. A main focus of it is working to end animal testing, expose animal cruelty, and empower no-kill animal shelters. Actress Katherine ounded the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation, named after her late brother who also adored animals. The foundation works to diminish the number of animals entering shelters by offering low-income families spay and neutering services as well as funding the transportation costs for companion animals to be sent to no-kill shelters rather than ones who euthanize to keep numbers down Last but definitely not least is singer Kesha who supports a variety of note worthy animal causes. Even more impressive is the fact that she is the first ever Global Ambassador for the Humane Society International. Canine Cafe is an important step in building the next generation of companion animal sheltering and dog adoption efforts in America. It is the first dog adoption project for sheltered dogs in the state of Washington that creates a new small-scale animal shelter model that successfully cares for the dog (physically, emotionally and mentally) and our customers by way of our design and operational practices. Our passion is to finally provide a space where Washington State University students’ and community members can fulfill the deprivation of being lonesome from their family dog back home. In addition, our business is a multi-purpose service for Pullman residents with a place to distribute high-quality coffee, Café-style food, a clean and relaxing their caffeine addiction along with a relaxing zone that is surrounded by charming dogs that want to visit and please customers. We work with the surrounding animal shelters in the Palouse region so that every applicable dog has a second-chance at life with the help of our dog-loving customers. Canine Café provides a great atmosphere for both humans and our four-legged companions to enjoy others company and fulfills the voids of both parties. Customers can expect to be served with high-quality coffee, cafe-style food, clean and relaxing environment. Our sheltered dogs have a separate room from the main lounge that is more catered towards spacious activities and interactions. Come in and enjoy the vibrant sense of Canine Cafe and help sheltered dogs find a new home. Drink, play, adopt and shop. Drinking good coffee now helps save lives.
